Get Organized

There has never been a better time to get organized then a three day weekend. I have taken this weekend to reorganize all my personal files. As you may have guessed from reading this blog, Nancy, Heather, and I work out of my home. Organization is a must!

Lately all my thinking has been focused on work files, but after reorganizing my personal files yesterday, I'm realizing that it will help my work run smoothly as well. The office looks tidier. I made new labels for my binders from my handy dandy label maker. And my thoughts are in order.

In an effort to get organized recently, I went to http://www.catalogchoice.org/ to register to be taken off ALL catalogue lists. I hate carrying catalogues up to my apartment only to have to carry them back down with my recycling. It is such a huge waste of paper. These catalogues rarely come out with new products, and they are products that I don't need to be seeing, I might decide I actually need one of them!

Unfortunately some catalogues are still coming, but a great many are not.

Another project I've been working on the past couple of months is ripping all my DVDs with the free program, HandBrake. I ripped all my CDs in 2004 then sold and gave them all away. I am doing the same with my DVDs now. I'm putting them into iTunes (then onto my Apple TV) and then giving them to friends or donating them to charity. Although I didn't have that many, it took a long time and some patience. I almost gave up! But I'm happy to say that this weekend the project will be completed.

These are just a couple of ideas, I'm sure you have projects of your own. Get going and wish me luck, I know I will have a perfectly organized house someday!
