The Music Building Show, New York, NY

The Music Building ShowMy piano player Alan and I had a great time playing an acoustic gig at The Music Building showcase last night in New York!

We performed some of my favorite songs in a casual setting with fellow musicians. Alan was rocking out with his crazy piano skills so much that I'm thinking we have to do more duo gigs.

Check out a reprise of the show (only a half hour!) on Feb 1st, 7PM at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. Check my calendar page for more info, hope to see you there!

American Folk Art Museum Gig

Tonight I'm playing at the American Folk Art Museum! I think I will actually be going on at 6:45pm. I know I've had 6pm written in my right column for a long time, sorry. I will be hanging out there from 5:30pm on, so if you get there early come say hi to me!

This gig is free, and the museum is free, so you're crazy not to come if you're even remotely near New York City. I will be playing five songs because my album is only half way finished (5 out of 10 songs), and I want to perform the songs that I have already revised for the album.

I'm performing alone and accompanying myself by playing my keyboard. Today I will be lugging this 50lb keyboard down my four flights of stairs, cramming it into a cab, and setting it up at the museum. I do have one person to help me (Unlike gigs in the past!). From now on I will be performing with a guitar player if at all possible, and eventually a full band!

So, please come to the show, and if not, look out for videos and photos of it here. And please make comments here about the show. I really love reading them!!!

Crazy Rain

Check out this video I took of last weekend! This is in the financial district downtown in Manhattan. It was raining in sheets. It was pretty wild! Be glad you weren't there!

(PS If you look in the background of the video there are two girls that make a pretty impressive leap in tandem to miss a puddle. Did you spot them?)

Missing You Now

Last week I announced to my email list that my new song, "Missing You Now," was here on my website for all to here. The response was VERY positive, and I think I've got everyone dieing for the album, which was my plan of course!

"Missing You Now"
is more in line with the vision of the album that I have, so if you like it, you will like the album. I'm hoping if everything stays on schedule, to release the album in mid-August.

So, thanks everyone. Keep listening and make some comments on my blog. I love them!

Designs by Tricia

After one year at Jersey Village High School, I transfered to Stratford High School.

My first days of my sophomore year at Stratford High School were very difficult. I didn't know anybody. But, on my very first day in history class, I met Lauren Wood! A breath of fresh air, and a great friend to this day. She was positive, brilliantly smart, and so much fun.

Lauren was new to the school too, and needed a friend just like me. She had moved to Houston from Baton Rouge, and always talked about her friend Tricia. I later was able to meet Tricia, and found out how great she was myself.

I received an email recently from Tricia about a line of jewelry she's designing. I want everyone to check it out. The designs are beautiful, and the prices are very affordable!

Demand Me

This button is from a cool new site: www.Eventful.com. You can "demand" for a performer to come to your city by clicking the "demand it" button and following the steps. Then artists like me can decide where to tour based on demand! What a cool idea!

I've signed up as an artist and demanded myself, so all I need now is for other people to demand me!
