The Music Building Show, New York, NY

The Music Building ShowMy piano player Alan and I had a great time playing an acoustic gig at The Music Building showcase last night in New York!

We performed some of my favorite songs in a casual setting with fellow musicians. Alan was rocking out with his crazy piano skills so much that I'm thinking we have to do more duo gigs.

Check out a reprise of the show (only a half hour!) on Feb 1st, 7PM at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. Check my calendar page for more info, hope to see you there!

Christmas Song Fundraiser Show at The Rock Shop, Brooklyn, NY

Sarah Elizabeth Foster and band after The Rock Shop show

Last night was my Christmas Song Fundraiser Show at The Rock Shop in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY! This show was my best ever! The band sounded amazing and I enjoyed incorporating some dance moves for the very first time! (I love the picture above of all of us together right after we finished the show. I'm so lucky to be able to work with such talented musicians.)

This year I'm recording a cover song of the Christmas classic, Sleigh Ride, to release as a single during the holidays. And even though Christmas is far off, I have to plan way ahead to have it ready in time for the season. Along with this show I will be launching a kickstarter campaign very soon, so I hope if you couldn't make it out to the show, you will be able to give online! This Christmas song is an extra project for me, so I can only do it if it is fan-funded!

Below is a picture of the Christmas tree display we had at the show!

Creative Commons Announces Their 6th Birthday Party Featuring Yours Truly

Since I am obsessed with Creative Commons and all the cool people that use Creative Commons licenses for their copyrights, you can imagine how excited I am.  Today I was dancing around my living room when I saw I was mentioned in a Creative Commons Blog. They were announcing their December Salon and 6th Birthday Party where I will be playing some music with a small version of my band!

What kind of interesting people will be visiting my site, I wondered? Will this party be the best Creative Commons Salon ever?  How many musicians will I be able to squeeze into the space allotted?

I feel so privileged to be playing at this event, and if you're visiting this site for the first time from that blog, then check out my music page because I have an informative section on Creative Commons that you might want to peruse.  Welcome!
