Follow Up to Why I Don't Buy More Music

I'd like to continue the thought from my last blog. I have syncing issues and I think music is too expensive. BUT...BUT, BUT, BUT...I think you should buy my music. Why? Because it's worth it.

I put great care into all five songs on my debut album. A few of them were actually rerecorded because I HAD to get them just right. Also, I believe my music is timeless. All my lyrics have multiple layers of meaning. You can listen to them over and over and continue to find aspects that will surprise you. These babies will grow on you!

And, not only can you enjoy the amazing music, but you can know that because I AM my own record label, more of your hard earned money will be going to support the artist you're enjoying.

Why I Don't Buy More Music

Two Reasons

1) Syncing issues -

I have two computers that share music. The music is stored on my Apple Time Capsule external hard drive and is accessed from there. But, when I buy music on one computer it doesn't automatically show up in iTunes on the other computer. I want to be able to buy music from both computers and have them both constantly in sync. After much research I've found that this is not possible except in a very tedious method. So, I don't really want to listen to music in iTunes or buy more music. It's too frustrating.

2) It's too expensive -

I'm sorry, but I want to buy A LOT of music and when I think about how much that will cost it is daunting. So, I end up buying very little. Now I only buy music that I think will directly influence my singing style, music that I can consider directly useful to my job.

I believe these issues will be resolved in the future, but for now I'm stuck in the middle.

The Band

You love Sarah Elizabeth Foster. Don't deny it. You're here on her website, reading up about her latest musical adventures and dying for more info, right? Good, that's the way it should be. If you want the inside scoop, you've got to get to know the people closest to her ... her band. You've always wondered about them, haven't you? Well, wonder no more!

Get to know Kenji, Caleigh and myself by checking out our band member pages here. Find out if you're from the same hometown, if you attended the same university or if you share a similar love for sandwiches!

Have a specific question about a band member? Great! Leave a comment below and I'll do my best to get your question answered.

Waltz-Astoria Show Wrap Up

© 2009 City Life Photography

I had a blast at our show last Friday in Astoria! Waltz-Astoria is officially one of my new favorite local hangouts, I encourage everyone nearby to check it out.

Armed with a fancy new webcam for the live stream and pickups to amplify our instruments, we took our performance to new heights.  Still, the audio quality of the live stream left something to be desired and we're working to improve that for our next gig.  In the meantime, we're preparing videos from the regular camera and will be posting them soon for your viewing pleasure.

This show was especially exciting for me because my parents were there! My adoring Mother and Father haven't seen me perform in about 3 years ... 3 YEARS! Not only that but they had only ever seen me perform with orchestras playing classical music. You can imagine how special the evening was for them.

I think it's also appropriate to mention that one of our biggest fans, Jim (who also happens to be my Dad's close friend) came to our show just hours after getting off of a plane from Los Angeles! Straight from the airport, that's dedication, folks!

All in all it was a very enjoyable evening. Surrounded by friends, family and music lovers, I felt right at home up on stage with the band and I can't wait for our next show!
